Cabot didn’t get look at it that way.
In the end, Monk couldn’t hit enough shots — 8 of 24, including 0-for-10 from the 3-point line while Jarod Barnes scored 17 points as Cabot rallied to earn its first 7A title with a 59-49 win over Bentonville in the Class 7A Boys state championship game on Friday night.
The Panthers trailed 36-33 after three quarters before outscoring the Tigers 26-13 in the fourth to win in their first championship game appearance.
Barnes was 5 of 10 from the field and 3 of 6 on 3-pointers for Cabot, which finished 21 of 45 (46.7 percent) from the field. Matt Stanley added 13 points, and Logan Gilbertson had 10 in the win.
Tyler Robinson added 13 points for the Tigers, who were 19 of 47 (40.4 percent) from the field.
